Driving home after the show I noticed something different. I was feeling really good. I can tell you that. This is how Coheed and Cambria affected the subconscious somehow. It’s times like this that I wish I was going home with that woman in the first row. But no, I was returning to the ranch to give mom her meds and tuck her in.
This was super tough to shoot. Very low light. And a lot of hair flinging. I’m happy with that photo I used to lead this piece. That’s gonna go into the portfolio. But like I said, it was super dark. I brought a Canon 50mm f1.2 set at 1/160 f1.2 at an ISO of 6400 and between grain, motion blur and just generally challenges of focus at f1.2, I just couldn’t get much to represent the two openers. All I can say is they do not want publicity. At least publicity photos.
I’ve noticed that The Ritz is dark as a rule. It seems to me that who ever is in charge of a band’s lighting should care to run through spec with the house engineer with a light meter. But I’m a micro manager in things like this. But it all counts. Thus no pics of the openers. No exposure.
Coheed and Cambria was gracious enough to give us a few more photons. Much appreciated. My settings for this set were hovering around 1/250 sec; f/4.0; ISO 5000.
