Marshall Tucker Band at Carolina Theatre in Durham, NC
It was a surprise and a pleasure to hook up with The Marshall Tucker Band in getting the credentials for this session at the Carolina Theater in Durham, North Carolina. These folks have a great publicist. A tiny percentage of these people stand out, making the complete experience a warm and welcome one. When you think about it, having this kind of publicist driving the good vibes forward, enhancing the experience from the get-go sets the positive impact in motion, creating a driving force for an awesome and enjoyable tour for the band and the fans. My hat is off to these people. Thank you.
Covering shows at the Carolina Theatre in Durham is always a pleasure. The fans that frequent this place, for any show I’ve been there for, are very laid back and always make me feel like I’m finally at home again and can chill out, unruffle and actually enjoy my time. This was no exception.
It was so obvious how much the fans loved The Marshall Tucker Band, and the band was reflecting this love right back to them delivering a welcomed melodious evening, incorporating the blues, country and jazz elements into their unique brand of Southern Rock.
Using the Canon 5D Mk II bodies for this show, my primary lens was the Canon 70-200 2.8, but I filled in a little with the Canon 24-70mm 2.8 and the Canon 16-35mm 2.8. My settings settled in to 1/200 F2.8 at an ISO of 1600. I didn’t have to lean too heavy on Adobe’s Lightroom Classic, but I shoot raw, and that means I’m going to fool around in the Develop Module. Which I did, and this is the result. Enjoy.
