WU-TANG CLAN at Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, NC
WU TANG CLAN performed a celebration of the 25th Anniversary of their debut studio album, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) at Red Hat Amphitheater. This fine show was an illustration of how to create mass hysteria. Adrenaline was pouring down from the sky like rain.
The opener was what looks to me to be DJ Saki. I could be wrong…but what do I know?
It was a challenge getting a decent exposure under the hats for this show, but I managed to get a few hints of facial features.
For this show I used two Canon 5D MK II bodies. I guesstimated that I would need more of a wide angle to get all the appendages into the frame with the amount of movement going on. So I affixed the Canon 16-35mm 2.8 and 24-70mm 2.8 lenses. My settings were at first a shutter speed of 320 to freeze the movement, but half way through I chickened out and dialed in 1/200 as I was concerned about the shadow under the hats. Well, that helped but then I got more occasions of blur in the hands and feet. They were moving pretty quick.
