THE ALCHEMY TOUR at Red Hat Amphitheater, Raleigh NC
THE ALCHEMY TOURwith Seven Lions, Gud Vibrations, Glitch Mob and Huxley Anne at Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh NC.
It changed me. No longer in the past, I can see now how it once was but no longer is.
Hanging at the entrance, watching the fans pour in while waiting for the go-ahead to enter the venue, I was brought back to my days at art school collaborating with my fellow outsiders, but inside our little bubble, all suited up and ready for wonderland.
And here they were again. All dolled up in their costumes, some itty bitty some not quite intelligible. Everyone ready for wonderland.
Just pure excitement, for hours. It was good to being there experiencing it all, getting blown away every 15 seconds or so by something. Pyro, smoke canons, images of love, psychedelic lights, lasers and graphics, bass so low and powerful the whole body was vibrating in comfort. Non-Stop. You just don’t want it to end.
I had an idea this all might be about a light show so I screwed on a Canon 8-15mm f4 Fisheye to my 5D Mk IV #1 programed at 1/400 sec; f/4.0; ISO 2500 and for body #2 I affixed a Canon 70-200 f2.8 for portraits with settings ranging from 1/320 sec; f/7.1; ISO 800 during daylight to 1/250 sec; f/8; ISO 3200 later in the evening.
